I think this song is in a free situation.
Metaphor:
– I’m like a bird: I am free like a bird.
– I’ll only fly away: i will only fly away, but not come back.
– I don’t know where my soul/home is: I lost
– Your faith in me brings me to tears : maybe her boyfriend said he loves her, but later on the boyfriend said he doesn’t love her anymore. It brings the girl tears.
– And though my love is rare/true: The girl really loves the boy, but the boy goes.

I think this song is in a happy situation.
Metaphor:
-I don’t know where my soul is.This means she is very happy and did not know who is

It was a sad song.
Her boyfrind was gone. What he promised would never done. And left. She break into tears because she really love him. Her soul, her home was gone with him. What she can was just like a bird. The only thing she knew was escape. She didn’t want to face it.

This is a lovely song. The songs which Mrs. Bouteiller introduces are very good.
”I’m like a bird”. This sentence means she feels she is like a bird flying in the sky freely and happily.
”I don’t know where my soul is”. This sentence means she is lost. She cannot find herself.

I think the lyrics is talking about us because we are very easy to get lost like the bird.

This song is very relaxing. It just like close your eyes, and imagine you are flying, i think this feel will be very good!
the singer situation is in a no vexation things.
Bird means free, you can do anything you want, you can fly anywhere you want.
The metaphor is a bird you get free with no care.

I think the song talks about a girl (singer) lose her soul. I think it was because she is taking a break with a boy. And then the ex-boyfriend of her must be the entire girl.

I think this song has many metaphor .For example, she says she is a bird. That means she thinks she lost herself like a bird which lost its target.

I think the lady who sing the song is to sing the praises of the people who take care of her, may be her parents, lovers and friends.When her soul is lost, they try to tell her that, there must be so many people love her. She said’I am like a bird.’ That means she like a little bird, she is scared, need people to take care. But when she grow up, she need to fly to another places to start her new life to get free though she didnt know where is her home.I think you want us to know that though we are not bird, we need to where the soul it is.Don’t be lost the situation.

I’m Like A Bird lyrics
The melody of this song is quite easy to listen. Before I listen to the song, I think that it would be quite sad. But when I listen to the song, I think the singer is quite happy, and I felt the free, relaxed, nature.
There are some metaphors in the song. Like: I’m like a bird, I’ll only fly away. It means that she was free, and she didn’t like to stay in a cage. She loves freedom.
I like this song, and I think the songs Mrs. Bouteiller chooses were very good. I love listen to the music now. Also I can learn something new in the songs!^^

Nelly Furtado,she has the bright beautiful contour, rigid pursue personalization’s music and creates singer’s route.She is a famous singer in the world.
I think the singer’s love is over,but she has a good attitude to face it.She doesn’t mind and does not think of him again, looks like a bird to release for flight equally the freedom, bravely facing the future.
Sometime, my mood is very bad, any matters does not want to do.But sometime, my mood is very happy, each matters is good in my mind even that is bad matter.Looks like the bird equally carefree soaring in the sky.

After i listen to this song,i feel so free!The mv is take place in a forest,a nature place that let me feel very free.I think that the singer love freedom very much.All the lyrics are about freedom.Everyone love freedom,i think no one will like to stay at home and watch television,computer,do homework……again and again,right?So that you can go out with your husband and you need not to worry about our homework,we will do better and better!!xp

After I read the lyrics, I find some metaphors are quite special.
Like the first two sentences
‘you’re beautiful, that for sure, U’ll never ever fade.’
Although you have a beautiful face, you will lose your gift by the time gradually. But the words here is absolutely opposite.

I’m like a bird.(bird can fly in the sky freely)
obviously means the singer feel free.
However, she lose her direction. She isn’t go on the right track.
It is in a free but confused situation.

“your faith in me brings me to tears’ sb who care of her make promise to her but he broke it & this brings her into sadness.

then i listen to the song & watch the music video, I feel it is happy and full of vitality.i don’t think this is an unhappy song.because The sun shines brightly and ther’re plenty of people .there are 🙂 on thier faces. maybe the singer think positively eventually so she become opstimistic.

In my view, the music & the lyrics are quite match.cuz the some parts of the lyrics (chorus) is joyful.and the speed is nimble..melody is lighthearted. ^^

There a lot of metaphors in the song.I think the metaphors “I’m like a bird,I’ll only fly away” mean I want to be a bird,I want to fly away,to escape my bother. And
“I don’t know where my soul and home is” mean I lose way,my mind is confused.

I think the singer is singing about her love.And, the situation behind the singer is the nature,it is a comfortable,free place.
There are some metaphors in the songs, for examples,

I felt a little bit sad by listening in this song. Because she said’ All I need for you to know is your faith in me brings me to tears…And it pains me so much to tell. That you don’t know me that well’.
I think someone hunt her and made she had a sad memory. But she made up her mind, she felt free now. She had nothing to care. She was like a bird. Flying freely because she was nothing to care. ‘I’m like a bird. I’ll only fly away’ means that she doesn’t have any directions. She doesn’t know where she needs to go. ‘You’re beautiful’,’You’re lovely’ are her boyfriend told her in the past. this song is about a girl who was hurt by her boyfriend and she sing out what she think.I think that the girl has been recovered because the song is not in a very sad mood.there are a lot of metaphors in this song, like the third line of the lyrics,”you are lovely but it’s not for sure”.it is comparing the feeling of the girlat the first of her love and after they separate. at first, the girl thinks that the boy is lovely but then now she is not sure about about this.the next metaphor is “and though my love is rare ,though my love is true”. it means although the girl’s love is precious,the boy did not treasure her love. this hurt the girl’s heart deeply.then the few lines of the lyrics is “I’m like a bird i will only fly away i don’t know where my soul is i don’t know where my home is”is means that the girl had lost her way and the direction and she don’t know what can she do.the boy let her go,then she left and she think that this is the only thing she can do.after that, the girl say that the boy had promised her something but the boy did not keep her promise.this may the girl cry.this is the meaning of the lyrics “your faith to me bring me in tears”.

I think the girl is not like to restrained by anything, she just wants to like a bird. She said, “you are lovely but it’s not for sure.” That means she thinks that love can’t last for the face. I think this song’s singer is hurt by her boyfriend and she recovered and feel happy and free because she don’t need to worry about anything just like a bird freely fly into the sky.

The metaphor is:

I fell so free by listen to this song. However, I don’t like the singer in this song. She looks not beautiful. The melody is very free. There are metaphors in this song: I’m like a bird, I only fly away. It means the singer fly away, she will not stay in a same place for a long time, she can’t find her boy friend easily. It like a word ‘ a bird without feet’ , so that she said that her love is so rare.

I think it’s talking about the singer feel like a bird because it’s very free and she is “flying” with no target.
She only want to fly in the sky without any control. She don’t know where she is flying to but she only flying without thinking anything.
She is very enjoy to flying in the sky.
The song made me very relax. =D
But I didn’t try to have the karaoke because my brother is at home now. xD

i think this is a happy song.
It is because i think she is very free so that she said that she is like a bird.And she said that ‘I don’t know where my home is’
Therefore i think she went to another country and she don’t know can she live.

I think this is an unhappy song.Besides I also think the singer’s boyfriend maybe don’t love her anymore and feel tired so she want to be a bird to fly in the sky,that free.
I can find mepathor in the song such as,
‘I’ll only fly away.I will only fly away, but not come back.’It means that the singer don’t want to think anymore after she leave him away so she will go on not lve her lover again.

I think this song makes us happy before I listened it. It is because the title told me that. I think the singer was so free and no people bother her. After I listened the song, I think the singer was extremely sad. The lyrics always repeat “I’m like a bird, I’ll only fly away, I don’t know where my soul is, I don’t know where my home is”. I think the singer was so sad because she lost her direction, no people care her, and even she can’t find her soul. She can only stay outside and do not have her own home. She feels lonely and no one can talk to her.

The melody is very free too.The lady is very free

2. I don’t know where my soul is, I don’t know where my home is.
– the singer starts to getting lose, so she need to find her direction and she does not have a home because she goes anywhere.

3. And it pains me so much to tell, that you don’t know me that well.
– although the boyfriend loves the singer very much, he did not know the singer wanted to change their situation because she did not feel well to stay with him.

I had seen many TV programmes that the situation of the lovers like the one of the singer and her boyfriend. It makes me feel a bit boring now because I can guess it easily. Anyway, I think the singer should leave at once when she was not feel fell with him, it makes them both feel pain, don’t hurt the boyfriend too deeply. May be each of them can start a new love to forget the pain behind.

Before I listen this song,I think this is a happy song,”fly like a bird” always make me think it is free.I want to fly like a bird too!
But after I heard this song,the singer think fly like a bird means give up.She wants to fly and fly,don’t return.i think is mean we didn’t need to solve the problem,we only need to give up ,and don’t think of anything,only do myself.

When I listen to the melody, I felt sad and lonely. Later, the melody changed to joyful and free.

I can find two metaphors in this song. First one is “I’m like a bird, I’ll only fly away.”Maybe the singer does not want to “fly”away, but under some situation, she only can “fly”away. Second, “I don’t know where my soul is, I don’t know where my home is.” Under this sentence, I think the singer is in a perplexed situation. Something she must know, but she does not know unexpectedly.

Although the lyrics seem sad, the singer sings happily. The background is bright. The situation of her is that her boyfriend doesn’t know her much so wants to leaves him. She still loves him but she doesn’t want to be tied by him. Since she has made up her mind, she doesn’t feel confused.

I have found these metaphors in the song:
“You’re beautiful, that’s for sure; you’re lovely but it’s not for sure” – you have a beautiful face but your benevolence will end one day.
“And though my love is rare, though my love is true” – the quality of love is more important than its quantity.
“I’m like a bird, I’ll only fly away” – she is free and does not want to be bound by anything. She wants to discover the world.

“Your faith in me brings me to tears” – she cannot be what he expects.

There are lots of matters we have to worry about, such as family, work, love… The most related for me is learning. In primary school, I was not the best and I had no idea to be the top. In my surprise, my exam result was really satisfied in P.6 and F.1! Then, the pressure comes from parents, friends and even me (Your faith in me brings me to tears.) It is very silly. Is score important? “Absolutely yes.” However, a lot of things are more significant than it. If we study hard, we will get much knowledge. We won’t have the day to stop our learning (I don’t know where my soul is, I don’t know where my home is). We don’t need to borrow trouble. Therefore, just try your best. Now, I am not bound by others’ viewpoints (I’m like a bird, I’ll only fly away). That’s fine!

I think it is not a happy song. Although the melody is strong, I can‘t feel happy after listening it. Singer feels lost and expressed in lyrics like “I don’t know where my soul is, I don’t know where my home is.” The lyric is about a girl loved a boy, but the boy didn’t love her, she was very sad and wanted to be a bird so that she could fly away.

She felt desperate, and sad but I think she wanted to put all her problems and fly away like a bird. I like Nelly Furtado very much, she’s voice is good and she looks like very beautiful.
The song is singing something about freedom,
I admire the writer use bird to express the girl,
they are feeling are same, but the music was very strong , i can’t feel very unhappy after that.

The main metaphor is ‘I’m like a bird’.It tells us that the singer likes freedom and she like to ‘ fly away’, that means she likes to be single.
Moreover, There’s someone special and made she fell in love with him.She wants to tell him that her love is rare, and he is lucky that she love him.And she may ‘fly away’ any time.
