It seemed the god cared us, what a great sunny day! Last Friday(29th May, 2006) our school held the Mini-Olympic Day in Hong Kong Sports ground. We had this program because students needed to pay some money if they want to join, and those money would be sent to charity for helping the victims in the China earthquake.
On that day half past eight in the morning, the opening ceremony started. Our principal and guests first gave us a few speeches. Just after the principal’s speech, we all prayed for the victims’ lives in silences. Then we sang the school song, finally there was excellent cheering team dancing.

The events formal started ! It was the time boys and girls screaming and cheering loudly! The basketball competitions and football matches were the boys’ favorites because they liked exciting games. Charlie Lee has helped his house got about sixty marks in a basketball competition! He must be famous then . He was short short and people laughed at him before but he showed his power this time. Besides in the football matches, there were lots of amazing goals. Although Ken Hung was absent on that day, Green House’s team has won. Sam Ho got a unexpected goal. He kicked the ball most powerfully, and the goalkeeper of Blue House’s team was careless,so… ‘ The ball has been shot in! The ball has been shot in! ‘ He and all the supporters shouted. I interviewed him later on, he said ‘ I am glad to see my opponents were dumbfounded.’ After Green House’s team has won, it would play with Red House’s team. Many students hated Red House’s team because its members usually do bad things. When the competition started, A Red House’s team player attacked a Green House’s team player, the player was hurt and got out.

Obviously the girls liked the events which were quieter, liked gymnastic. Amy Cheung has got the best result in playing balance beam because she did lots of beautiful postures.

In the prize presentation, our principal Mr Lee presented the prize to the winners and record-breakers, he especially praised the record-breakers because they gave all the athletes new achievements. But some of the loser did not agree with that and they disdained the winners. Mr Lee was disappointed about this.
.
What do you hope on the next year’s mini Olympic Day? I hope all athletes will play safely and be sincerely convinced.

A day to remember
1st of May was a sunny day. That was also a big day of our school because it was our Mini-Olympic Day. Our school invited many athletes, including other schools to join the Mini-Olympic Day. We set up a charity of Red Cross at the corner of the entrance of the stadium. Our purpose was to raise money to help the people affected from the Sichuan earthquake. All students were very kind and friendly. They donated more than ten thousand dollars altogether.

At the beginning, we had the opening ceremony. First, we all sang the school song to show our friendships. Then, we had the principle speech. After the speech, our principle led the prayer with us to pray for a safe and happily day.

The first event began at 9:00am was the 400-meters long run. All the players ran extremely fast. They were like lions, tigers or even the wind. I couldn’t believe their speed. The first one who came back was Peter. His result was 2 minutes and a half. He broke the school record which was 2 minutes and 40 second. He was really strong.

The second event began at 10:15am which was the javelin competition. The players look so strong. Tommy’s result was 7.8m.He was extremely happy but Tom’s result was 7.85m. They both broke the school record. Their teachers and coaches were proud of them.

The third and the fourth event began at the same time. It was at 11:30am which were the wind-surfing and the shooting. Mary and May were the players in the wind-surfing. They played skillfully. They broke far away from the school record. Jack was a good shooter. He aimed at the centre of the target. Wah! The arrow was in the centre of the target. There was never a person shot in the centre. He was really powerfully!

After all the events completed, we came to the closing ceremony. We had the performance of the cheering teams from different houses. Then, we all sang the school song agitatedly. After that, we had the speech of guests of honour. Finally, we came to the prize presentation. We were honour to invite our principle, Mr. Chan to present the prizes to the winners. We were all happy.

This was really a happy and exciting Mini-Olympic Day, we all enjoyed it very much. We hope we will also be happy next year.

A Mini-Olympics Day was held in Hong Kong stadium on 11th August. It was sunny in the morning but rainy in the afternoon. It was held for raising funds for the Sichuan earthquake victims. If there were somebody broken the records, our principal would donate some money privately. All of the money would be donated to the Red Cross.

There was an opening ceremony at 8:30a.m. Our principal gave a speech. He led us to have a prayer, sing our school song and he gave some souvenirs to the guests of honor. Finally, he led us to have a silent tribute for memorizing Sichuan 7.9 magnitude earthquake.

There were many events (outdoor and indoor games). They were swimming, badminton, basketball and football. There were also track-and-field-involved-hurdles, javelin, discus, sprint and long jump. There was only one indoor event. It was table-tennis. The first event was girls 100m sprint after the opening ceremony. I finished it at 12.00second.

A closing ceremony was held at 2:00p.m.on 20thAugust. Each house had the performance of cheering team. Prize presentation also held in it. The final houses champion was Love house.

Although our house was lost in this Mini-Olympics Day, we have learnt a united spirit. We should be cooperating. I won a gold medal. It was quite a surprise. I was very happy. I have learnt a perseverance spirit eventually.

Mini-Olympics Day

On the thirteen of February, our school held a mini- Olympics Day. The weather was wonderful to held sports competition. It was sunny and with some wind. Our mini- Olympics day was holding at the Kowloon Bay Sports ground. This year is the ‘Olympic Year’; our school would like us to taste the feeling of joining one Olympic game. Therefore, our school held the mini- Olympic day.

‘Please stand.’ The form 6B Jenny said, and all of us stood. The opening ceremony began. We sang the school song and the national song. At the same time, the scout and red-cross member raised the flag of our school/After that, our principal had a speech to us, it was quite boring.

At nine o’clock, the first event began, it was the A, B, C grade girls high-jump. Then, the second was A.B.C grade boys 200-meter race. The third… The fourth…

Peter from class 2A had broken the records on the 200-meter race. He ran 12 seconds for the 200-meter. I hope he can be the Olympic player’s! Moon from class 6B had broken the records on the A grade long jump event. She jumped 5.1 meter! What a long distance, right?

At around four o’clock, we had the prize presentation. Alice from class 2B was the winner among all the girls and Alan from class 6A was the winner among all the boys.

At four thirty, it came to the ending ceremony. We had to pray to thank you God. After that, our class teacher dismissed us. I had a wonderful day!

26th February, 2008 was our school’s Mini-Olympics Day. That day was cool and cloudy. It was held on Kowloon Tsai Sports Ground on the Inverness Road in Kowloon City. The Mini-Olympic was held because of raising money for built our new school. It raised more than $100,000.
We started the open ceremony at eight o’clock in the morning. We invited the guests of honor to sing the school song with us .Then, our principal, Mr. Chan said a lot of speech, and I thought it was very boring. Then, the cheering team by four houses performed very well .At last; Love house won the cheering team competition. After that Red Cross and Scout performed, too. I thought Red Cross was better may be because I am a Red Cross member. I thought the commander had momentum, because the command is long and the commander can’t stop when they were saying the command.
The events started at nine o’clock. The events like : Long jump , High jump , Shot put , Table tennis , 100m ,200m and 400m race ,relay , Basketball ,Volleyball ,Tennis and Badminton .etc. Although the events were very wonderful, I felt boring and sleepy because I hadn’t joined any events and we can’t listen to music, used mobile phone and read the books.
After all the events finished, we had a close ceremony .We invited the guest of honor to present the prizes to our athletes, all of the winners smiled happily .Then we sang the school song and our principal led the prayer finally.
