The internet: Curse or blessing?
Good morning teacher and fellow classmates. Do you like going through on the internet? I think most of you say “Yes.” Today, I’m going to talk about “The internet: Curse or blessing?”
We can surf on the internet everywhere. The internet not only becomes the resource of choice for finding information, it also offers us a lot of services such as online games, online chat rooms, softwares, comment publication, e-mail and so on. We can also make purchases. It likely to be more convenient. In many countries, the amount of children and young adults who know how to use the Internet has increased dramatically. It shows that the Internet becomes more popular.
But is the Internet really good? Unfortunately, more than 500million people are hooked into the World Wide Web. We can be easily addict to the Internet services. Most of the teens are carried away by the online games and online chat rooms. Their studies may be affected. Although we can make purchases on the Internet, is it safe? Do you find that there are many news are about online fraud and the purchasers have been fooled? Besides, online dating has been popular today. Online dating services is convenient and is different of the traditional dating way. But there is a news which surprise me: a 16-year-old girl who lives in Tai Po has disappeared after attending an online dating. Later, her body was discovered in the sea. Is it horrible? Therefore, I think the internet can be a curse!
However, if we are careful when we surf on the Internet, not easily to trust the online companies, avoid the online dating and don’t addict to the online games or online chating, the Internet is really an excellent service! God bless you all. Thank you!

The Internet: Curse or Blessing.

Good morning everyone. Today I am going to talk about the topic” The Internet: Curse or Blessing”. In the beginning of my speech, I would like to ask you a question: Do you think the Internet is very useful? I think most of you will say yes. However, do you know the negative side of the internet? Recently there was a leak of the police documents; certain of them were classified documents which included the data of probes of the police. So it is not just all advantages about the internet, isn’t it?

Firstly, I would like to talk about the advantages of the Internet. It is very useful because we can easily find the Information that we are looking for. And we can share a lot of things with people all over the world. In view of that, Internet can help us share and search information with others world widely. We can meet a lot of people from all over the world. This can help us enrich our knowledge of the world. The Internet seems to be a blessing for us.

But is it the full view of it? Unfortunately, it is just part of it. At the beginning of my speech, I have mentioned about a piece of news which said that there was a leak of the classified documents from the police. It seems to be horrible, even important documents can be leak from the police though Internet, then what about our private files? The Internet can be a way for us to share information, but it can also be a way that our private data would be spread to others. Recently, another pieces of news mentioned about a sixteen-year-old teenage girl went online dating with someone who knew though the Internet. After she left home on that day, she has disappeared. Later her body was found in the sea, but was chopped into pieces. Our private data can be easily spread out. The people we met in the internet might harm us. The Internet seems to be a curse for us.

There are plenty of advantages and disadvantages of the Internet. If we used it carefully and wisely the Internet can be really useful. However, if we used it carelessly and irresponsibly, it could be really dangerous. Therefore, it is our decision and action that make the Internet a blessing or a cruse.
That’s the end of my speech, thankyou!

The Internet is more of a curse than a blessing. Some will say that is subjective and varies from person to person. This is true. But the Internet, in a practical and universal way, it is more of a curse.

This can easily be demonstrated by the fact that it is geared more towards exploitation. The use of sex and children have become synonymous since the Internet became popular. Exploitation comes in many levels. But the end result is always the same. It creates a perspective in life that reflects materialism, selfishness, hatred, resentment, lack of compassion, disrespect toward others, lack of empathy, disregard for little things, etc etc.

We can easily go to many websites, viewing preteens masturbating and giving oral sex to dogs. They are even having anal sex in groups. From the time you open a web browser, you have opened the door to corruption. In order to surf the Internet freely, you have to give up your beliefs and moral principles because they WILL be violated after a few clicks.

Now websites like Facebook are being viewed as normal and “necessary” for many. Even though it is totally unneeded and is nothing more than a place to brag and flaunt yourself in various ways. People are being reduced to “consumers” and allowing it to be so. They are voluntarily doing it. This shows the huge VOID that is in most people’s lives. Those who are 30ish or older have forgotten the blessings of yesterday when technology wasn’t at the forefront. Most younger people have never witnessed a technology free life. Therefore, there are many things they will never be able to appreciate because today’s motto is being infiltrated by anything superficial.

Whether a person admits it or not, the glorious days of yesteryear were heavily influenced by religion. It is what made people focus more on the inside.

“It’s the inside that counts”. REMEMBER THAT?

But now, with religion being pushed aside, and atheism being promoted as something good, we are seeing people focus solely upon the flesh and appearances. They are dying a spiritual death and don’t realize it. We haven’t seen the worst of this yet. People will eventually become mere “vassels” in the world from which they seek self fullfillment. They will gladly toss another under a bus if it will give something in return.

Have we really become ignorant enough to ignore this reality?
