Good Morining everyone! Last weekend when i’m surfing the net, i came over a poem by Ruby Mae Heard and i want to share part of it to you. When you find yourself alone and still reaching for the phone. When you want make the call and yet not speak at all. When your watching TV hour after hour and feel yourself becoming sour. When you feel all these things that i have said and spend your times along in bed,,,,, So this reflects how teens life is today, isn’t it?

Well, my topic today is Life is easier/harder today.Maybe you may always hear about the elder ones talking about how great our life are. “ They don’t need to work, they have lots of technology around them, how lucky they are?” Yet, are we really that lucky?

Firstly, teens are living in a highly polluted areas with all the greenhouse gases. Take an example, the air pollution index exceeds 150 and 130 in Monk kok and Central and greatly affects our health. And all these gases will eventually lead to global warming.

Secondly, as more people are having more knowledge on using technologies, more people choose to use them in a wrong way. And it’s so dangerous to all the teens. Teens get undesirable information through the internet. A girl who was 16 only have even been killed. Are we really lucky?

Thirdly, as the population increased, people need to cut more trees to have lands ; sprays insecticide to kill worms in food in order to produce more food. And so, are food as natural as the one before? What about the environment we’re living in, is it green nowadays?

Lastly, as the price of everything increases, both the parents of teens today had to work outside in order to earn more money. They got home late and leaves their children alone in a dark and lonely house. As thus, teens today lack the love of their parents, lack their encouragement in times of need. Are their lifes easier today?

After all, what i want to say is that. The life of teens are becoming harder and harder nowadays. And i want to conclude all by this quote of Victor Hugo:
Life is the flower which love is the honey. Um…i think maybe Cherishing what you have as a teenager might be a great way to make our lives easier cause they might be the symbol of love which makes our life easier .Actually there can be more solutions, yet before all of that, please try to think how can your life be easier as you are a teenager living here today. Thank you.

Quickly think about what you have. NDS? Computer? Mobile phone or i-Pod?

I believe everyone at least have any one of them listed above. However, are you satisfied with them? Maybe you want to own a private computer to play games anytime.

According to a research done by an organization called “Synovate Limited” in
Asia area, they have found that 83% of Hong Kong youngsters possess mobile phones, and 69% of them have computers. From this information, do you realize most of the teens today can buy many substances easily?

Actually, most parents often spoil teens in order to gratify their eagerness such as purchasing PSP for us no matter what as long as the product is chic and common among teens. Try to think about the previous generation. Did they have such electronic entertainments? Absolutely not! They may only have a pair of glasses for their eyes, TV and hand-made toys.

You may tell me “Oh, Daisy. My life is not as easy as you think. My parents always urge me to participate lots of activities after school even though they are definitely boring, time-wasting and exhausting.” Well, not doubt, that’s all true to us. Yet, do you know that people decades ago didn’t even have any chances to learn things in general. Despite how eager they want to learn new things, they couldn’t afford.

For me, I’m glad that we don’t have to take up any part-time jobs to reduce family’s financial burden. Instead, my parents provide me opportunities to learn the things I want. I take children in villages in China for an example, their living and study environments are much poor than us. Let’s look further. When we think about the children in Africa, they are suffering from hunger and thirst, and even haven’t got enough warm clothes. The daily necessities which are really essential to their lives, somehow they don’t have!

In my conclusion, “life is easier for teens today”. We should treasure what we have and never focus on what we don’t have enough. There are always more people whose lives are worse than that of us.

Like another famous local girls’ school’s school motto:
“Life is precious. Treasure every moment!”
Let’s bear this in mind. Thank you!

Life is easier/harder for teens today.

Good morning teachers and classmates. Before I start, I want to ask some questions. Are you happy? Which one do you prefer, playing computer games or going out for a run?

Every day we wake up in the morning, go to school, and finish much homework… It seems that everything is fine and easy. But, we are suffering in formal pressures. In the past, teens do not have such complicated work that we now need to do every day.

As the research that conducted in March, there are 11% teens in Hong Kong think that life is unhappy, which is higher than other 10 countries in Asia. Why? We have computer, video game, entertainment like singing karaoke, but still not enough?

My friends please guess which country’s teens are the happiest in Asia. Japan, where there is high technology? Taiwan, where there is much delicious food? China, where the place we are living in? No! It is India. Is it amazing? Although not everyone in India is rich, they have a pure heart.

Just like me, there is not much homework during primary school life. As I getting older, life isn’t so relaxing like younger days.

Later we will promote to F.3… F.4… Even higher. (If we can). More and more work will be given for public exam. Naturally more and more pressure will be added on us. All of the people say we have to do good preparation for opening exams. Well, that means our life is getting harder and harder!

Every week in the newspaper, there are many teens who commit suicide because of love… pressure… even about family. Life is so long. If you are blocked by some problems, just climb over it! There must be an exit to continue your life. We need to be tough because more and more challenges are coming towards us. If we give up now, we can’t earn happiness during our life.

Thank you.

Good morning , teachers and classmates. As you all have experienced your teen time. So, what do you feel? Is it unforgettable? Do you think it is hard? Have you think about other’s teen time?
In the past, for our parent, for our parent teen age, every family were so poor, excepted the richmen. Although they were poor, they were free and happy. They did not worry about their futures. This does not mean that they didn’t care about their future or they could not change their destiny, but they did not need to worry about that. I remember my father said” At my teen time, we did not need to promote to any Universities, but we will get a job that have salaries enough for living.”
On those days, there were few subjects to learn. Teachers and parent didn’t have high expectation on students. Student Jobs requirements were easily to be meet by people. There were a lot of jobs available from the market in short time . People could find job easily, even with low qualification. Student in the past faced less pressure than us. They did not need to work extremely hard working as us to get high marks.
I think life is harder to today teens. Nowadays, although there are many facilities, such as computers, and projectors, we nearly get all that we need. Our society put a lot of expectations on teens nowadays. According to the research from singtao ,every years, there are only less than 50% of s7 students who can promote to Universities. It ‘s horrible. How can teens suffer from much pressure? Parents and teachers focus on our results. This make us feel tired. Sometimes we
Our parents don’t care about our feelings and we won’t talk to them. Parents know what is the world like. And what we need to do. World is changing, Companies wants good employers. They can choose either they use Hong Kong top students or foreigners. We must study hard in our age and get a good job in the future. We must talk to our parents and teachers, and them ask think that we don’t know because they earn many experience in they life. They life change by the world crossing centaries. We are not in 19th centary anymore ,we are now21th students. Don’t you think we need to spend times and pap attention to have a good future?

Life is harder for teens today

Have you ever been depressed because of your academic result is not good enough? Have you ever felt inferior because your home is not as big as some other classmates? Have you ever felt shame of yourself because you can’t afford to buy a NDS or PSP? I experienced these feelings before and I believed that my parents have never had these feelings when they were small. And today, I’m here to share my points of view concerning the topic – Life is harder for teens today.
When parents talk about the life of teens today, they will absolutely agree that teens today are happier. We almost have all the high-tech stuff and lived comfortably. But, most probably, different people have got different points of view. Just like me, I don’t think that teens nowadays are happier.
I asked my parents if they have got any entertainment when they were small, and their answers were just playing ball games, riding bicycle, and sometimes playing paper dolls. See, no PSP, no Computer or even television! This kind of life seems very difficult and boring, but they were happy and satisfied. Why? This is because they don’t need to compare with others. We are living in a world full of comparison nowadays, lots of teens have low self-esteem because they’re family can not satisfy their wishes and they starts to look down on themselves.
Secondly, most of the parents want their children to be the best and have a good job in the future. As a result, they started to give a lot of pressure to their children. We are not just living in a world that full of comparison, but also full of pressure. We always feel stressed and we bare the expectation of our parents. I believe that life of our last generation was not like this.
I really think that lives of teens today are not as easy as the adults think of. Yes, life is more comfortable, but life is not happier. Childhood should be the happiest period of everyone’s life, and childhood is going to leave all of us very soon. I hope all of us can enjoy our happiest period of our lives. Although we are living in a world with pressure and comparison, we can still try to satisfy with what we’ve got now. This is the end of my sharing. Thank you.
