Comment by Harry

Actually, our digest system does not have a special handle on chewing gum. I think this is a joke because the parents don’t want their children swallow these substances. : )

Comment by Arthur

It doesn’t take seven years to digest chewing gum. In fact, our stomach doesn’t digest chewing gum at all! Since it’s made out of soluble fiber, chewing gum passes right through us. So gum comes out with the rest of your waste, usually a day or two after you eat it.
Although chewing gum does not take seven years to digest but we still cannot eat it.

:’D

Comment by Yvonne:)

No.People exaggerated the real effect.
It’s main purpose is to remind people not to eat the chewing gum.

i think it is not real…because 7 yr is very long.
and i search the net and it is very few people to say about that….
if it is real… it will have many topic will talk about this

Comment by KIT

“Absolutely not.
If you do swallow your gum, it will simply pass through your system undigested into your stool (much like fiber).
The consensus seems that it’s best to toss your chewed-out gum in the trash, but if you do happen to swallow a piece, don’t worry — it won’t sit in your tummy for seven years. “

Comment by Grammy

It is impossibility for digest chewing gum for seven year. The acid in our stomach can digest it very fast. It won’t stick in our stomach. When we eat the food what has much oil then it can dissolve the gum.

Comment by Wesley

I think it is not true because I have searched the net and the people does not mention about this and one of them also said a doctor has told him that the chewing gum will excrete from our body itself, so I do not agree the chewing gum will take seven years long to disgest inside our body.

Comment by CCK

No i think it won’t really take seven years to digest chewing gum. Because it causes no real harm, and in fact probably serves to prevent many cases like those Milov describes, the urban legend seems likely to stick around for the foreseeable future.

Comment by phoebe

I don’t think it really take seven years to digest chewing gum.I have checked in the internet and can’t find any information take seven years to digest chewing gum.

Comment by Katrina

I think it is false because chewing gum isn’t easily digested or it use some other method to made it`digest’.Some scientists use some scientific method to test it.If the chewing gum need 7 years to digest, it may cause harmful to the human body.

Comment by Michelle

um…
I don’t know.
It is because there is no chances for us to test it.
The chewing gum will leave our body soon when we eat it.

Comment by Jessica

No, it does not.
It is because I won’t swollowed the gum.

Comment by Secret

Comment by coco

I think it is not true. It is because the stomach contains the gastric juices, and the pH value of gastric juices is quite low, it means the gastric juices is acidic. How can the chewing gum be digested for 7 year?

Comment by bryan

I think it is Not real,
Because some people really think about this question , the result is [A myth as durable as gum itself holds that the chewy confection sticks to your innards like it does to the bottom of a desk.]If this is true, my stomage need to have about 28years for digest chewing gum…

Comment by Jennifer

First of all it is very horrible. Therefore, I don’t think so, it is because seven years is a really long period and even it is really difficult to dissolve it will also get through out our body within seven years. So I am not agree that. But all what I have say is only my opinion there must have a accurate answer.

I don’t think so coz it was really too long for 7 years to digest a bubble gum. Also, if it has is true, i’m sure that many doctors will mention about it and actually some of my friends did swallow bubble gums sometimes. So if it really take so long, i think their stomach will ache.

Comment by Connie

I don’t think that it really take seven years to design the chewing gum! If it really takes seven years to design that, it is too long! So I don’t think it really takes seven years to design the chewing gum!
On the other hand, just like Kit said that, if ti really take seven years to design that, it must have many people or type of things to talking about that!

Comment by Candy

Although the gum is indigestive,it just takes only 1 to 2 hours to let the sugar in the chewing gum to be absorbed into the human body, and the wad of gum leaves in the body fairly unchanged, but on a normal schedule.=]

Comment by Stella

No,I don’t so.Because if the chewing gum inside body for a long time, I think that may destroy some functions of our body.

Comment by Melody

i think it is impossible.
When you’re contentedly chewing a wad of gum when an unforeseen turn brings about a quick disposal—the hard way.

I think it’s not real. How could a chewing gum in the stomach for seven years?!According to Rodger Liddle,”nothing would reside that long, unless it was so large it couldn’t get out of the stomach or it was trapped in the intestine.”So how could it be real!

Comment by LISKA

You should go to see doctor after eating a gum!Not wait for seven years to give out a .But it is available to wait for 7 years!Because a gastroenterologist Michael Picco said:Although chewing gum is designed to be chewed and not swallowed, it isn’t harmful if swallowed. An old wives’ tale suggests that swallowed gum sits in your stomach for seven years before it can be digested. But this isn’t true. If you swallow gum, it’s true that your body can’t digest it. But the gum doesn’t sit in your stomach. It progresses relatively intact through your digestive system and is excreted in your stool.

Comment by MarcoMing

No.I don”t think so.I think no people will chew the bubble gum for 7 years.i think it needs more time.

Comment by natalie

I think it is only a old bit of folklore.I don’t think the chewing gum can stay in digestive abyss for 7yrs.
“On occasion we’ll see a piece of swallowed gum,” David Milov says, “but usually it’s not something that’s any more than a week old.”

Comment by Michael

No,it doesn’t.I ate chewing gum when I was young. But it didn’t need seven years to digest chewing gum.Our bodies can digest food in someday. So I don’t think that to take seven years to digest chewing gum.

Comment by Eleanor

Will the role of glial acid hydrolysis, and in the digestive juice – all of the effects of variability, which could be through the normal digestion of the way was excreted.

And I have a question:Can the chewing gum exhausted from the body?

Comment by Johnny

Seven years? That’s too short! In my opinion, chewing gum takes millions of years to digest because it is also a kind of plastic, right? No, no, don’t believe what I have just said….
